Park Street

Windsor

Park Street, Windsor involved the extensive refurbishment of a prominent Grade 2 Listed building for use as British Airways Housing Association office headquarters. Site investigations revealed an earlier medieval building encased in the later Georgian façade with adjacent Victorian additions. The complex history of the building and its construction was researched, and this allied to the practices’ existing broad knowledge allowed for a sympathetic restoration. The peeling back of each historical layer exposed numerous period details, which were carefully enhanced, repaired or matched. This process was achieved in collaboration and detailed negotiations with the local authority, English Heritage and indeed the ‘Palace.’ The finished project provides a prestigious office environment, successfully combining the highly serviced modern requirements of a business user within an historic period environment.
