Stert Cottage when purchased by our client was a derelict 17th century Grade 2 listed timber framed cottage, requiring a complete refurbishment and structural works to its frame. Over a fifteen year period the practice has overseen the renovation of the existing house, including the lowering of its internal floor level, designed a green oak framed conservatory linking the house to a new guest wing, which enjoys idyllic views over the landscaped pond, stream and swimming pool. The result is comfortable house with modern additions which acknowledges its historic origins.
